STRATEGIC factory maintenance currently underway at Chemelil Sugar Company will result in an increased production of over 3,500 tonnes of sugar per month. Upon completion of the factory maintenance with resumption of operations expected during the month of July 2022, this staff writer established the Company will cumulatively produce over 40,000 tonnes of sugar yearly from milling above 2,400 tonnes of cane daily at a Tonnes Cane Tonnes Sugar (TC/TS) ratio of 12.5.

GOVERNMENT plans to pay farmers cane and employees salaries arrears owed by public sugar companies says Agriculture Cabinet Secretary(CS) Peter Munya during Muhoroni field day featuring scores of agriculture sector exhibitors, among them Chemelil Sugar Company.
Munya who visited the Chemelil Sugar Company exhibition stand during the farmers field day held at Kandege grounds in Muhoroni, later addressed participants and stakeholders at the event and announced the Government plan to pay farmers cane and employee salaries arrears.

The colourful retirement farewell party and a sumptuous luncheon hosted for the three electrical retirees; Daniel Obilo, Samson Agono and Samuel Omondi, was organized by Umeme Self Help Group, founded by Company Electrical Section employees.
